I just received a Wards GEN10301 player and need some assistance.
Firstly, the player has a disc stuck in it. (I am not familiar with the mechanism so I thought I would ask for help on this forum. ). I can pull the disc and the ring out about 2 inches and then it stops. What can I do to get it out? I believe that I have to remove the disc in order to get at the loading belt.
Secondly, I found where the servo belt is and it had turned to goo. Changing it does not appear to be hard. I think that the loading belt is in the same state as the servo belt.
Thirdly, what are the chances that the turntable belt is in any good shape? I believe that the turntable belt is non-existant. Was a replacement ever found?
Note: I have the wired remote and the DSA-100 stereo adapter for this player and was hoping to get it working so I could use these 2 accessories.
Thanking you in advance. _________________ Sears 934.54780150 & 934.54810350

Update:
I managed to get the disc out of the player by using an empty caddy that I have.
This still did not solve the problem of locating the loading belt. I cannot see hide nor hair of it from the top of the player. Is it possible that it could be seen from the bottom? _________________ Sears 934.54780150 & 934.54810350

| I don't think there is a loading belt. When the turntable spins the turntable will rise up into position Like it has a reverse thread built into the spindle of the turntable. |

Possibly. I have a hunch that there is a loading belt. Why would CEDmagic.com list a loading belt under their Products page?
Just an observation. _________________ Sears 934.54780150 & 934.54810350

| Your right. I remember the square belt. I have repaired about 20 of these players over the years. I think I have quite a few of all three belts and my grooved pulleys to fit the round turntable belt. |

Man, you are the person I want to talk to. You have much more experience with the Toshiba internals than I do.
Would you consider replacing the pulley and belt on my player? I could ship it to you in the box I received the player in. In exchange for your services, I could ship you a Hitachi VIP1000 player (USA model). I have 2 so I can easily get by without one of them. I have replaced the arm drive and the loading belts on both and tested them so I know they work. (Of course, the player will come with a stylus.)
Think ir over and post your decision on this thread. _________________ Sears 934.54780150 & 934.54810350

Since cbertra2 did not respond, I will put my request out there for anyone to answer:
Can anyone on this forum repair Toshiba and Wards players? My Wards player needs the loading and the arm drive belts replaced. Also, I want the turntable pulley replaced with a grooved pulley and the turntable belt replaced. I would do the job except that I have absolutely no experience with the Toshiba internals.
In exchange for your service and labor, I would ship you an Hitachi VIP1000 player, USA model. The player will have had both internal belts replaced and it will have been tested to make sure it works. (/The stylus will be included.)
Also, can anyone tell me what model of stylus the Wards player takes?
Note: I mention that the VIP1000 will be the USA model. I have a VIP1000 that was sold in Canada. If you have a preference for it, I will send it to you in place of the USA model. _________________ Sears 934.54780150 & 934.54810350
