Just got a SGT 200 and a bunch of discs. It starts and plays awesome for 20 minutes, then experiences video quality fade, then will not play past 30 minutes. Looking at it closely today, it does not appear that the stylus oscillates past that point. Contact is not an issue. Belts are good and both cleaned/reshrunk with amonia. Any ideas? Like I said, played awesome until about 25 minutes, then starts freese framing until 30-35 minutes, then no go.

This sounds like a worn-out stylus symptom. I would change the stylus and try playing a disc again. (Only if you have a spare stylus that is good.) If you do not have a good spare stylus, I would send the current stylus to cedmagic and have them evaluate it. If they say the stylus is bad then I would have tjhem clean or rebuild it.

I agree with the worn out stylus!! This just happens with my RCA 100. However I would also check the disc or discs too!! I’ve gotten some really that seem to play fine than it still did the fade and realized the disc was worn out/ pass 20 mins.

That is something that I did not consider that the disc may be worn out. If you have a disc still in cellophane, I would attempt to play it and see what happens. Personally, I hate to play a "new" disc as they are hard to come by unless you keep the disc for testing purposes only. In my case, I have numerous discs both in cellophane and without that I can use to test a player.

Worn belts are another possibility.
