Hello, I am the newest member on here. I became interested in CEDs this year, and purchased an SGT-250 and four movies off of eBay last month while I was at school. I was told that the player was defective, and I discovered that all it needed (at least for now) was a new belt for the function motor drive.

The problem I am facing now is that I do not know how to place the belt on the two gears, as there is a big, black gear preventing me from placing the replacement belt, and I cannot find any instructions online on how to do it. Could anyone please direct me on how to replace the function motor drive belt on an SGT-250? I'm hankering to play my first disc some time soon! Very Happy Thank you all!

you have to evenly pry upward to take the black gear off. that should gain you access to the belt. be careful as the gear is fragile. i used wooden chopsticks to gain enough leverage to pop the gear off its drive spindle

Thank you very much! I actually did manage to get the gear off yesterday after I warmed it up with a hairdryer. Sadly, I'm experiencing a new problem now, which I'll make a new topic on. Very Happy
