My fiance & I recently got to go through a house that went up for sheriff's auction. There were a lot of good finds in there of collectible items, some of them being several video discs and an RCA player. My fiance had never seen or heard of these. I had, I used to rent the discs & player from the library in my home town. We're trying to sell these items and I'm having considerable trouble finding a few of them or finding a price for them once I do find the title online. I'm wondering if anyone out there can help me please? The main title that I'm having the most trouble with is: The Mean Season. I couldn't even find it at first & when I did FINALLY pull it up it said it was only worth $5. I found that hard to believe since its listed on cedmagic as a rare disc. The other's I'm having trouble pricing are listed below.

Reds double disc set
The Postman Always Rings Twice
Under The Volcano
Impulse ( can't seem to even find it as ced, let alone find a.
price)
The Evil That Men Do

Also, there was an RCA SJT 300 player there that we got & either I've forgotten how to run the player or there's something wrong with it. & ok....it's been a LOOOONG time since I've used one of these but all I remember doing is turning the thing on & putting the disc in the slot and it locked in & loaded. Well, this one won't even let the disc case be inserted. The door of the slot won't push in all the way open. So I'm thinking something is wrong with the player, or there's a disc stuck in it maybe? Or am I totally wrong & have completely forgotten how to run the thing at all? I tried to find operator manual online & all I find is service manual. I don't need to know how to tear it apart & fix it Lol, unless yes there's something wrong with it. Can anyone help me please with this issue or prices on the discs I've listed? Thanks in advance.

for the value on the discs you could just look on ebay and see what it has sold for in the past, but take note if those discs have been tested because an untested disc will probably not bring as much money. And then you also have the packaging of them to ship them so they don't arrived damaged. I bought about 500 discs and of the 100 or so I've examined they were all bad. Just about all of those were from rental places. I could list them on ebay as untested but I think that's not the right thing to do and to get maybe a dollar or 2 and it costs me that much just to package it properly so those 100 of mine went in the trash.

The player more than likely needs it's belt/belts replaced so it would have to be opened up. If it has been moved around much without the shipping pins/screws installed to immobilize the cartridge arm it's 3rd reduction gear may be broken. After you fix all that the control buttons may be bad. The 2 j series I've worked on both had bad controls so they needed new switches installed. After all that you send it's cartridge in to be cleaned and tested and repaired/rebuilt if needed and after all that play a disc. But there might be more stuff wrong with it besides all that. You really need a love for ced nowadays because almost all players need work before they will play a disc.
Depending what the player is it may bring something on ebay in untested condition, which I don't feel is a bad thing, as long as you say it won't accept a disc.
